Petrol & Diesel Rate in Pakistan (12 September 2026): Fifth Consecutive Hike
The
Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced another increase in fuel
prices under the newly implemented daily petroleum pricing mechanism. For
Saturday, 12 September 2026, the rates for both petrol and high-speed diesel
(HSD) have seen an upward revision, impacting consumers across Karachi, Lahore,
Islamabad, and nationwide.

Why
Are Prices Rising?
This
latest revision marks the fifth straight hike in petroleum prices over the past
five days.
- Total 5-Day Increase: Since the beginning of the week, petrol has surged by
a cumulative Rs 29.95 per litre, while diesel has jumped by Rs 25.27 per
litre.
- Daily Pricing Mechanism: In July 2026, the federal government authorized OGRA
to determine and publish fuel prices daily rather than fortnightly. Prices
are now adjusted every 24 hours based on the seven-day average of Platts
international benchmark prices.
- Global Market Impact: The continued upward trend is a direct reflection of
surging international crude oil markets affecting Pakistan's import costs.
These
rates will remain effective until Monday, 14 September 2026.
