Punjab Schools Reopening: Education Institutes to Resume Classes from Wednesday

The Government of Punjab has officially announced the reopening of all educational institutions across the province starting Wednesday, April 1, 2026. This decision brings an end to the extended spring break that began on March 10, which was implemented as a strategic measure to conserve energy during the global fuel crisis.

Key Highlights of the Reopening

According to the statement released by Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat, the transition back to physical learning will be comprehensive and mandatory.

·        Reopening Date: Wednesday, April 1, 2026.

·        Weekly Schedule: Schools, colleges, and universities will follow a five-day working week.

·        Mode of Education: Full in-person classes. The government has explicitly ruled out the "hybrid" or online model for this term.

·        Institutions Included: All public and private schools, colleges, and universities throughout Punjab.
